About Ashlee

Ashlee Adams possesses a deeply rooted connection to North Carolina. Having spent her entire life in the Wake Forest community with family ties spanning multiple generations, Ashlee has seen many changes to her hometown. From a young age, she learned what it meant to give back to her small town.

Ashlee studied and graduated from Meredith College with an undergraduate degree in Communications. Subsequently, she completed her nursing degree at Watts School of Nursing and began a career at Durham Regional Hospital and later at WakeMed Hospital.

Prior to embarking on her nursing career, Ashlee received her Captain’s license from the United States Coast Guard and completed her Master Scuba Diver Trainer certification while living and working in Palm Beach, Florida.

While nursing remained a passion, in 2008, Ashlee, alongside her mother and best friend, ventured into entrepreneurship, starting a small business as an event planner in Wake Forest. The opportunity to purchase a historic home in Wake Forest could not be passed up and thus The Sutherland Estate was brought into existence. Ashlee oversees all operations at The Sutherland, while also managing a beverage catering company as well as running the Wake Forest Junior Cotillion program.

A devoted wife and mother of two, Ashlee's multifaceted contributions to the community reflect her dedication to preserving Wake Forest's rich history as a thriving small town. She's ready to bring these hardworking business skills and family values to Raleigh as she runs for North Carolina State Senate District 18, serving Granville and Wake County.
